
Boattrips
In a pinasse or a piroque, a wooden boat with a thatched roof, you leave
the vibrant port of Mopti.
There is a lot of activity on and around the
river. Women doing the washing, swimming kids, boats overloaded with merchandise
on their way to Timbuktu.
Along the river Niger are beautiful villages
with mud houses. Above the village towers a mosque.
The Bozo people, an
ethnic group that lives on fishing, smoke their fish on the riverside.
You can spend the night under the starry sky on the bank of the river Niger.

a Peul village Ngoimi, along the river Niger.
There is beautiful
mosque in Ngoimi.
